Nan Hawthorne is a
historical novelist and ravenous reader of the genre.
She writes a fictional blog, Tales from
Shield-wall Books, and her first novel, An Involuntary King.
is due to be released in September 2008
Most of the books on this site are linked through our
Amazon Associates bookstore, paying the bills and rewarding
our effort a little. Others, not available through
Amazon or at least not through their associates commission
program, are listed here for the love of novels about the
Middle Ages.

The way this bookstore works is that when you click through to a
title from our site and order the book from Amazon , they credit us
with a small amount for referring you. Your business will be
with them only, and all concerns or questions about your order
should be directed to Amazon.com. In some cases we may refer
you to other booksellers and individual publishers and
authors. Please direct questions about those orders to the
appropriate person/company.

Here is what we need to know:
- Make sure the story takes place roughly between 500 and 1600
AD/CE. We do not list books outside that time period,
which is generous enough. It's called medieval-novels.com.
- Look around the site
to see how it is organized and choose the best placement for
your story.
- Country or region where the story takes place.
- If England, the reign during which the story takes
place. E.g., Henry II, Anglo Saxon England, 14th century
(if during more than one reign), or as close an approximation as
possible.
- Full title
- ISBN, if possible.
- Author name(s)
- A shot description of the story, no more than 50 words.
- Is the book on Amazon? If not, the name and URL of where
the book can be purchase.
- If the book is not released yet, the date of its release.. and
a jpg or gif image of the book cover.*
- Your initials
- Your email address to be used only if we need to ask a
question. We do not collect email addresses.
* Do not send the image unless your book is coming out in the
near future. We no longer use cover images on the general
listings.
| NOTE: We
do not have an email newsletter any more. To see
regular updates go to That's All She Read.
You can subscribe to it there as well.
We ask you for your email in case we have any
questions. Unless you elect to receive the newsletter,
we will not put you on a mailing list or give or sell your
information.
Thanks!

FTC Disclosure
As of December 1, 2009, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission will
require bloggers to disclose when the books they review are
suppllied to the reviewer by the author or publisher without
charge. medieval-novels.com is not itself a blog, but
we do have an associated blog, namely That's All She Read.
In the interest of full disclosure, please note that all links on
this site and on that blog that lead to books and other products on
the Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk websites will result
in our receiving a small referral fee, assuming you buy the book as
a result of following that link. On occasion we may write
reviews of books and other products supplied by authors or
publishers. In this case, we will indicate as such in the
review. If you have any questions about any of this, let us know.
How you can help us
Just visiting and becoming enthusiastic about the site is a great
start! But there are a few other things.
- Just sending us book suggestions using the form above
is wonderful! We are at over 1,000 books now. But as
the idea is to have every novel from the period available
there will never be enough.
- Also if you can occasionally look for books you've read that
we don't have good descriptions for or images of the
covers and can send those to us too.. that would be
magnificent.
- Theoretically we make a little money with each sale of a book
on Amazon Associates. The reality is that we don't
make a penny from any sale where the total before shipping is
under 40 cents. And that penny was literal. We
certainly commend your economy for choosing one of those books
with teeny tiny prices.. and of course you are welcome to go
find the books at the library. The money we make probably
will never quite cover our expenses. So if you can see
your way through to spend more than 50 cents on
each used book you buy, we'd be obliged and each of us a
halfpenny the richer.
