Well, it looks medieval.  Neither of us is a fantasy fan, not that kind of fantasy anyway, so we don't tend to seek them out.  But if you suggest a fantasy novel, we will list it.

The Four Guardians appear throughout history to save the spiritual life of Britain.  If you can believe Harold Godwinson needed to be beaten by William the Conqueror and that King John was a better choice than Richard, you'll enjoy this.  Even if you can't, as I could not, you might still enjoy it.. I did.  NH

If you can accept William as the reincarnation of King Arthur and the returned Messiah of the true Britain and Harold as a Christian enemy of magic, you're in luck.  Terrific book.  Wait until you see what she does with King John in a later book!  NH

The alternate history novel asks the question, "What if this thing had not happened or this other one did?"  For example, An Involuntary King asks, "What if there had been  a Saxon octarchy instead of a heptarchy?"  (Yeah, i know, you ask yourself that everyday!)  Ruled Britannia ask, "What if the Spanish Armada had won?"
